We started our blogging journey by creating a DEFINE map using what we collectively know about blogs. Everyone in the class could contribute something which was great:
The next step was to look at some blogs from other classes and other schools. We were looking for features that made the blogs attractive to us and made us want to linger longer...
Some people wanted to jump the gun and get on with customising their templates...
They were pleasantly surprised to find out that they could work on them at home...cool! Next time we'll use our Define map and what we found out to write a definition of a "good blog."
What a great idea to explore different classroom blogs to help decide on your criteria of what makes a good blog. We are going to be setting up our individual blogs for 2013 in a couple of weeks once camp is done. We will check back then to see how you are all going! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteP3 - Wonderful to see that you will be working online this year, myself and my students will be watching from Hamilton and will be very interested in seeing your students work and seeing what you are able to come up with. We'd love to see a slideshow or video that shows your school and the important sites and places around your school.

It seems to me that you have really thought hard about what Blogging is and what the possibilities of Blogging are.
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite aspect of blogging is like you said, you can blog at home, which means that learning can happen any where and any time. If you have an iPod you can get the Blogger App and you will be ale to blog your adventures anywhere :)
I look forward to following your blogging adventures
